These are the people that so
graciously allowed us into their lives, homes, buses, and their obsessions.
Suzie Sweetrie
Suzie was the one that embraced us most
readily and was always ready with a smile for the camera. A high school
student, Suzie was the heart of the group (not the brains). An avid Shojo
fan, she loves all things lovey dovey in anime, as represented by her
favorites, Sailor Moon, Marmalade Boy, and Cherry Blossom
Avengers. Her boyfriend is Randall Wolfson.
Randall Wolfson
Randy was, in his own words, "...kidnapped
by the Queen of Sparkley Scenes and thrust into this damn mess..." We suspect
that he actually did have fun, considering the wide grin on his face after
the Big Black Overlords, Pearly White Tentacles marathon screening. At
home, Randy adores his favorite series, Alien in the Darkness and
Ogenki Clinic. His interests include body toppings and The Kama
Sutra. His girlfriend is Suzie Sweetrie.
[quite a contrast, if you ask me]
"Donald Gayeman"
A lifelong fan of "beauty in all its forms",
Donald was entranced with the masculine beauty of anime men when he saw
"Speed Racer" for the first time. After all, who could resist "...that fine
specimen, Racer X..." A self-proclaimed Bishonen Master (gotta
catch'em all!), is secure enough in his masculinity that he will wear a
dress for the sake of elegance. His favorite anime are Gundam Wing,
Revolutionary Girl Utena, and The Lovely Heterosexual Males
OAV.
Andrew Akshun
Born and raised nowhere near a Shoalin Monastary, Andy Akshun carries the
blood of a warrior despite living in New Jersey. At least, this is what
he'll tell you. Andy's pride and joy is his extensive Hong Kong Film
collection, which includes such classics as Hard Boiled and
Wing Chun, as well as more obscure films like A Better Tomorrow
Part Five: The Revenge of John Woo, and Love and Bullets in Ancient
China. Andy hopes to one day become a stunt man and meet his hero, Chow
Yun-Fat.
Robert Deisschukker, a.k.a. Jareth Darkstrider
Who knows what shadows lurks in the hearts of men? Jareth Darkstrider knows,
and embraces his dark side. As a self-proclaimed child of the night, Jareth
spends the dusk hours consorting with other non-mundanes, hiding among the
pitiful rabble of commoners during the day, serving them coffee while working
at the local Quicker Stop. The child of fantasy-gaming parents, Rob was
introduced to role playing by his mom and dad, who would turn even a simple
dinner at home into a feast at the table of Odin in the halls of Valhalla. To
this day, he still treasures the first twenty-sided die that they gave him on
his fifth birthday. His favorite books are The Vampire Lestat and the
Necronomicon. His favorite movie is Army of Darkness. (his
reasoning being that because zombies have no sense of style, vampires are by
far the superior undead).
Richard Hackerd
Normal
guy by day, anime fanfic writer by night, Richard Hackerd is considered one
of the most prolific writers on the web. Originally a comic book fan only, he
took the example of his fellow fans, write story upon story about The
X-Men. But with his first introduction into anime, via a marathon viewing
of Ranma 1/2, Richard found a new outlet for his creative talents, and
another story that "...I could tell way better than the creators." A man of
volume, Rick holds many awards for his works, including (but not limited to),
Longest Ongoing Series for his one-hundred part Ranma Series, The Rise
and Fall of the Saotome Dynasty; Biggest Dimensional Convergence for
his crossover work, Crisis on Infinite Tokyo Towers; and Most Defining
Not-Real-Life Story for Yes I Can If Gendo Says It's Okay: The Ikari
Richard Story.

James [Rocket]
From the beginning, James made one thing abundantly clear: he is not otaku. He
was not coming along to "...hang out with dorks who have nothing better to do
than oggle men who are drawn to look like women." He was just doing his sister
a favor, since their mom wouldn't let Jessie go by herself. "She kept going on
about 'tribals' or something..." Being the older brother, James considers himself
far too old for cartoons, preferring to watch such fine television programs as
WWF Smackdown, The Man Show, and of course, South Park.
James currently attends Caldwell University where he majors in Writing Seminars
(no joke).
Jessie [Rocket]
As president of the B. Seako Beever Memorial High School Anime Club, Jessie
was the one responsible for pretty much everything that transpired. It was she
that responded to Marti's recruitment call, and it was her colorful stories
about the hijinks that the BSBMHS Anime Club had gotten into that convinced us
that this was the group we were looking for. Jessie was the co-founder of the
Anime club at her high school, despite the fact that she was not even enrolled
there at the time! She also considers herself the most evangelical otaku in her
town, single-handedly "converting" nearly everybody presently on the club
roster. A well-versed anime fan, her favorite anime is Princess Mononoke,
although "...Jin-Roh, which I just saw recently, comes in a very close
second."
