Drivel: Lukas Chen's Homepage |
|
Oh, what a tangled website we weave when first we practice. What you see before you is the sum total of about two(2) and a
half hours of work I pulled on 05-27-2000. I've wanted to make a
web page for a long time, but I just didn't know how to go about
it. I thought about just using a couple quick-start formatted
web page builders, but they never really satisfied me. Another
thing was that I didn't like having any big internet company
names in my URL.
Yahoo,
AOL, even
Geocities
was too mainstream for me. Not to mention that these big places
would have like no disc space provided to me. Which is why I'm
here now, at
50megs.com.
Sure, the address is still choppy, but I'm looking into making
it simpler even now. Supposedly,
taiwan.50megs.com
should work, but I haven't been able to access the page with said
subdomain yet. In the meantime, I've registering for
fly.to/new_jersey,
Which is probably what I'll stick to.
This stuff is still kinda new to me. I'll get better, I swear.
Stuff to come: (This is to remind me just as much as it is to let you know. The closer a section is to the top of the list, the sooner that part is likely to be finished.)
May 29, 2000: Added more detailed To Do list, uploaded text versions of LUNs. Damn 50megs put some kinda scripting fail-safe in play, so it doesn't look very pretty right now. October 16, 2000: Went through the trouble of hypertexting the LUNs. Now they're not horrible looking scrunched up text files. January 08, 2001: Rearranged the To-Do list, decided to add some items to it. January 11, 2001: Figured how to put the links on the side. Once I have stuff to put there, I'll initialize them as links, and stop them from being just a crappy list. January 12, 2001: Put my wittle NowhereMan icon on the main page. Also changed the background to a nice charcoal pattern. The MI pattern was gettting distracting. March 05, 2001: Aight! Finally made an update! The Quotes section is up and running! Feel free to skim right over using the links on the side. Also got fed up with www.50megs.com not having their ftp servers working, so I mirrored the site on a Tripod account. |
