Alright! It's April!
That means I get my allowance, I'm one month closer
to graduating, and I'm
finally into a college!
Feature Article: Swinging
Back to the
Homeland
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Back in November, I was looking at colleges and stuff, picking out
the cream
of the crop, and then throwing them back for places I'll
actually get into.
So I picked up this one school. It had a good
reputation, and a great
location. It was close to my family, it was
located near a major urban city,
and the dorms weren't that bad (from
what I gathered). So I rattled off an
application and forgot about it. I
didn't seriously think I was going to get
in, so I didn't tell any of
y'all about it.
So
today, Mom and I went to Franklin Mills Outlet Mall to get me a
tuxedo, for a
special trip in May (more in News Boxers)
I was
accepted to National Taiwan University!
From an
American-Student perspective, I guess they decided to give
me a shot. Of
course, this means all my summer plans are out the window.
My Taiwanese has
been really bad, and I'll need to bone up. Because of
this, Mom's decided to
quit her job and move back to Taiwan. She and my
aunt (also a doctor) are
going to start a new hospital. I'll be around
until about mid-July, and then
we're gonna ship over and move everything.
So sorry to the rest of y'all
coming to the states. But hey, at least you
can visit me when you go back for
vacation. Beside, with the election and
all, Taiwan will need tech
specialists if there's a war. After all, we
all know I'm not buff enough to
be a regular soldier.

- It is confirmed! In
May, I will be taking two (2) WHOLE WEEKS off
from school to go back to the
East! Mom signed a waiver for school and
everything so I wouldn't lose credit
in gym and everything! Firstly,
we're stopping in Taiwan. Visit relatives,
ring them up for cash, visit
the University, yaddayadda. Then we're off to
JAPAN to attend my aunt's
wedding! Which means, yes, you Japanese cuties will
get to see me in a
tux if you plan it right.
-
Started work on Tunes 2K, my quasi-annual CD gift. I say quasi cuz
this'll be
only the second year I've done it. IN preparation, you'll all
have to tell me
where I can ship it to in June. I wouldn't want to send
it to your house and
you not be there, or like the Louisiana Boys, if I
send it to your school and
you've already graduated. SO TELL ME WHERE
YOU'LL BE IN
JUNE!!!
- Switched gears on the Music Video Thing.
We're now going to do
serial experiments lain to Queensryche's "Silent
Lucidity." It's a pretty
popular song, easy to get an mp3 of. lain is...
weird, but definitely
worth seeing. It's like Ghost in the Shell mixed with
Evangelion-like
plot. just don't see it all in one sitting like I did. My
brain was jelly
for like two days.
- Writing an
article for the school newspaper. The subject? Top Ten
Must-see anime every
person should see. Feel free to mail in your
suggestions, but only until
Wednesday, after that it'll be set in stone.
But I'm getting my own page, and
I can lay it out however I want to.
- Doing a mosaic
for art class.
- Borrowed my friend's Dreamcast, so
I've been playing Crazy Taxi
like nonstop. It's such a good game. Scored as
high as just short of ten
thousand. And Soulcaliber too. And Dead or Alive
2.
- Got a haircut. Went for a short
thing.

Ah,
poor poor Yusaku Godai. He failed to get into a college the
first time, so
now he has to stay in the roudy boarding house to study
for next year's
college exams. But lucky him, the new manager is
absolutely gorgeous. This is
what I thought my life would be like, since
I thought I wouldn't get into a
good college. I hoped that things would
work out for me, as they did for
Godai in the end. it took him six long
years, in the end he won Kyoko (the
manager)'s heart, AND got a job, to
boot. So it gives me hope for my future,
no matter what will happen. I
started the manga, and couldn't put it down. I
finished it in three days,
beginning to end, all 17 volumes. And it was worth
it.

SAY WHAT?!
"This life. Why do I have this life?"
- Dante
(Hicks), oft repeated to me, esp. right about now. Girl
troubles. Go
fig.
